How trending works
Trending is driven by the Souq Score combined with recency. Listings with recent engagement rise to the top, while inactive listings gradually drop over time. There is no way to pay for a higher ranking.
Category rank
Each listing also has a rank within its category (e.g. "#3 Restaurant in New York"). This is recalculated daily based on the current popularity score among approved listings in the same category.
Featured content
Featured guides and listings are hand-picked by The Souq team to highlight quality content. Being featured is not purchasable — it is based on content quality, community engagement, and editorial judgment.
Global rank
Every approved listing has a global rank across all categories, updated daily. This lets you see how a listing compares to every other listing on the platform.
