What we expect
The Souq is built for the Muslim community. We expect all users to be respectful, honest, and constructive. Your contributions help others make informed decisions.
Not allowed
- Hate speech, threats, harassment, or personal attacks
- Sexually explicit, violent, or graphic content
- Spam, scams, phishing, or malware
- False claims about halal certification
- Fake reviews or vote manipulation
- Fake or duplicate listings
- Impersonation or privacy violations
- Using bots or scrapers to circumvent rate limits
Reporting content
If you see something that doesn't belong, tap the flag/report button on any listing or review. You can report:
- Incorrect or outdated information
- Inappropriate content
- Spam
- Duplicate listings
For data corrections, you can specify exactly which field is wrong (e.g. hours, halal status, address). Reports are rate-limited to 5 per hour to prevent abuse.
What happens after a report
Our moderation team reviews every report. Depending on the outcome, we may update the listing, remove content, or take action on the account. You won't be notified of the specific action taken, but you can check back to see if the issue was resolved.
Enforcement
Violations may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent account ban. Repeated or severe violations (e.g. false halal claims, harassment) lead to immediate action.
