A Manifesto for Muslim Writers & Creators

Algorithms don’t know a good place from a bad one.
You do.

We are looking for Muslim writers and video creators who know a neighborhood so well they could draw it from memory.

Not influencers. Not SEO farmers. Not a content creator with a niche.

The uncle who has eaten at that Yemeni café for three years. The sister who knows which bookshop in Jackson Heights stocks the only good Arabic children’s books in New York. The imam’s wife who knows the full schedule of every women’s halaqa in Queens.

Essay or video, they tell the story better than any algorithm will. We want them in print or on screen, with their name on it, seen by their own community.

What we’re looking for
A neighborhood or community you know intimately
A clear thesis (not “the 10 best”; the one thing you want people to understand)
Written: 1,200–2,500 words in your own voice, or video: a 3–10 minute walk-through
Photos, b-roll, or raw clips if you have them, but not required
Respect for the people you write about or film
Pitch a guide or video
We read and watch every pitch. We respond within 7 days.
